Zambia

Zambia is located at the heart Africa. It is shaped by its majestic rivers, dramatic escarpment and vast wilderness. The mighty Zambezi River runs like a lifeline through the southern part of country forming much of its southern border. The river tumbles in a massive wall of water over the great Victoria Falls, the widest waterfall in Africa and a famed World Heritage Site. The Great Rift Valley starts in Ethiopia to the far north and ends here in Zambia, contributing to its spectacular landscape. On its northern border is the mighty Congo River. In between are massive wildlife parks, spectacular valleys teaming with wildlife, and wetlands which are home to some of the most spectacular birdlife in the continent. Given its remote reserves, abundant wildlife, and brilliant guides, Zambia is where you come to immerse yourself in wild Africa. The camps are small, the landscapes big, and the walking safaris unforgettable. Add to that 70+ ethnic groups, remarkable hospitality, and surprising cultural richness, and Zambia quickly becomes more than just a safari, it’s a lifechanging experience.

A Few of Our Favorite Experiences

  • “We are back safe and sound from Africa and had a phenomenal time! Your choice of camps and the order in which we visited them could not have been any better. We kept saying to each other –It can't get any better than this –and then it would. Wow - you outdid yourself and we are certainly glad you did!”

  • “Everyone was extremely responsive to our questions and quick to update us on any flight changes or other adjustments. As both old and new school, my mother and I appreciated that we had both a hard copy of everything and a mobile version. Honestly, every day was extra special. We literally had a unique, unexpected experience daily, whether it was watching an elephant feed from a tree right behind us (reaching up with his truck to get the leaves over our truck), standing near white rhinos, or seeing four two-month-old lion cubs playing by their mother. And those are just three examples! Dream trip! It could not have gone any better.”

  • “The itinerary was well planned, and we would not have changed anything. We enjoyed every camp, received first class service, and the staff was always friendly! EXPLORE did an outstanding job with the itinerary. We thank the entire team for their excellent work and for making this the most amazing experience of our lives (until we return again)!”
