Arrive in San Jose/ Poas Volcano On Day 1, you arrive in San Jose and are transferred to your lovely accommodations where you will be for two nights. Your accommodation is a tropical paradise overlooking the Central Valley of Costa Rica. Enjoy a day tour to Poas Volcano and later, the Doka Coffee Estate where you learn about the production, harvesting, and roasting of the coffee fruit as well as take a tour of the processing plant..
|Day 4 & 5|
San Gerardo On Day 4, you are transferred (approximately 2 hours) to San Gerardo, situated in the highlands around Cerro de la Muerte, Costa Rica's highest peak. Venture into the surrounding Los Santos Forest Reserve or to Los Quetzales National Park in search of the Resplendant Quetzal and the other 175 bird species native to the area. Other animals resident in the area include felines, tapirs, brockets and coyotes as well as a plentiful supply of trout in the rivers.
Corcovado Early on Day 6 you are transferred to your luxurious accommodations in the hills outside of the small town of Uvita, just minutes from beautiful sandy palm beaches of the Marino Ballena National Park. During your stay you are driven south into Corcovado National Park, considered one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet. Here you explore the jungle in search of monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, colorful birds and a plethora of other animals. Search for the rare and elusive puma prowling the jungle. The rest of your time here is spent at your leisure to explore this magnificent area as you please.

Carara Today you are transferred north to Carara, just steps from the beautiful white sand beach of Herradura Bay. After checking in, you visit Carara National Park, a unique place as the Amazonian and Mesoamerican ecosystems converge here to form a distinct biological reserve. While hiking in the park you have the opportunity to see monkeys, armadillos, peccaries, waterfowls, opossums, sloths, acouti, kinkajou, tayra, white tail deer and possibly the elusive jaguar or ocelot.
In the afternoon, you are transferred to the Tarcoles River. Enjoy spectacular rainforest scenery and cruise through dense mangrove forest canals where you see gigantic crocodiles, caimans, lizards and dozens of different species of birds.
Guanacaste Today you are driven to Playa Ostional on Costa Rica's northwest Pacific coast to your small, very private lodge with elegant, colorful bungalows offering absolute tranquility and relaxation. Big terraces open to a jungle full of wildlife and the outdoor showers are a thrill for every nature lover. Relax on the pool terrace with gorgeous views over the surrounding nature reserve and to the ocean.
Enjoy a hiking tour of Rincon de la Vieja National Park, most famous for the eponymously named volcano, comprising nine contiguous craters that dot the park. The following day you tour the Ostional Reserve where thousands of sea turtles come to lay their eggs.
Arenal Volcano For your final days in Costa Rica, you are driven to the your resort and spa which offers the unique combination of the energy of the active Arenal Volcano, the heat of the Hot Springs and the purity and mystic of the surrounding rainforest blend into what many have described as "paradise". Here you explore the surrounding area, hiking up Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica's most active volcano until 2010 when its activity began to subside. Relax with a soak in natural, thermal hot springs, possibly the most beautiful in the country. You also have the opportunity to see the nearby butterfly gardens.
Departure - San JoseToday you are transferred back to the capital San Jose for your international flight homeward.
