  • Day 1

    ARRIVE BRAZZAVILLE

Arrive in Brazzaville and charter onwards to Odzala-Kokoua National Park, one of Africa's oldest national parks, featuring a diversity of habitats and a wealth of resident species. Once at camp, you take a short walk to explore the area around camp, including Lango Bai, a swampy clearing, the forest fringe and nearby streams.
    Day 2 & 3

    ODZALA-KOKOUA NATIONAL PARK

The next two days are spent exploring parts of Odzala-Kokoua National Park. Enjoy a boat trip up the Lekoli River to Mbouebe Bai. Just a short distance away you reach a concealed hide from which animal activities at the bai can be observed. You may be fortunate enough to see the elusive Bongo antelope, wild gorillas, or forest elephant.

Take a morning game drive through the savannah in search of game. Later, take a boat trip downstream along the Lekoli River to its confluence with the larger Mambili River for sundowners and to watch for primates, forest buffalo, and other elusive species. A night drive offers intriguing opportunities for seeing some of Odzala’s more secretive nocturnal creatures.
    Day 4 - 6

ODZALA-KOKOUA NATIONAL PARK / GORILLA TREKKING

The morning of Day 4 you journey away from the savannah to the south-western corner of the park to spend time at Dzebe Bai. Spend midday in the hide waiting for secretive forest animals to appear in the clearing; there’s a chance of viewing unhabituated gorillas here, as well as species such as Black-fronted Duiker, Guereza Colobus monkey and perhaps even chimpanzees.

The following two days you depart on foot with your guide and tracker on your gorilla tracking excursions. Using the expert skills of the trackers, you start at the point where the group chosen to be monitored for that day slept the night before and you follow their tracks as they move through the forest until you find them.

In the afternoons, back at camp, you embark on guided forest walks in search of birds and primates, as well as forest duiker. Enjoy sundowners overlooking the forest canopy, and if time allows during your stay, you visit the nearby Gorilla Tracking Academy.
    Day 7
