Central African Republic...Discover the heart of Africa.
After years of civil strife, inaccessibility, and a lack of infrastructure the Central African Republic is finally open to visitors. This country, nestled into the Congo Basin's magnificent tropical rainforests, is home to lowland gorillas, forest elephants, chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, forest buffalo, dukier, rare bongo antelope and a number of other elusive species. The relatively recent civil unrest makes this country little known, underdeveloped and only for the intrepid and savvy traveler, however, as a reward for their boldness, the serious traveler can expect something spectacular and truly African.
