Zimbabwe Is Back: Classic Tented Safari Camp

Day 1-3 VICTORIA FALLS

Upon arrival in Victoria Falls, you are met and transferred to the Elephant Camp. This camp is situated within a private concession very close to Victoria Falls, and actually has breathtaking views of the Falls’ spray, while enjoying the natural beauty of the Masuwe River and Zambezi Gorge. Just a short drive from your camp is the magnificent Victoria Falls, where the Zambezi River opens out into an extravaganza of roaring, spray-tumbled water, known to the locals as “Mosi oa Tunya” (the smoke that thunders). Here at the brooding statue of David Livingstone, who in 1855 named the Falls after his Queen, the raging river is compressed into a massive surge of green-white water known as the Devil’s Cataract. Few sights are as awe-inspiring as this when the ground rumbles with the forces of the water.

Day 4 & 5 MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK / ZAMBEZI LIFESTYLES CAMP

After breakfast on Day 4, you are transferred to the airport where you board your charter flight to Zambezi Lifestyles Camp, in Zimbabwe’s remote and extremely pristine Mana Pools National Park. An intimate small camp is set up prior to your arrival on the banks of the Zambezi River. The luxury tented mobile camp is designed to give you access to the Zambezi river affording you canoeing excursions on the river, fishing either from the banks or off an island in the middle of the Zambezi river, tracking game on foot, or exploring the area by vehicle on a traditional game drive. There is no greater thrill than canoeing the Zambezi past grazing elephants and buffalo, who take little notice as you silently drift by.

Day 6 & 7 MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK / KANGA CAMP

On Day 6, you take a game drive transfer to Kanga Camp, located in the heart of Mana Pools National Park. Kanga Camp can be best described as “the old Africa in a new era”. Kanga Camp is set in a private concession in Mana Pools, 15 km from the Zambezi River along the seasonal floodplain of the Ruckomechi River, not too far Chitake Springs. The tents are comfortably furnished in a large walk-in Meru style, with en-suite bathroom facilities, out-door bucket showers with flushing toilets and private verandas over-looking the water hole.

Day 8-10 HWANGE NATIONAL PARK / SOMALISA CAMP

On the morning of Day 8 you are flown to Somalisa Camp, set in the heart of Hwange National Park, known as the land of the giants for its big elephant herds. Somalisa is an authentic bush camp, a blend of old African charm and elegance together with an exclusive safari experience. Its stunning location tucked away on an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain gives it breath taking views of the savannah plains of the famous Kennedy Vlei line. At Somalisa Camp, you experience the heightened romance of the African Bush in one of the most natural environments in Africa. This is the way Africa was meant to be explored.

Day 11 DEPARTURE

On Day 11, you are flown back to Victoria Falls where you depart on your international flight.
